According to popular tradition, the Great Bed was made by Jonas Fosbrooke, a journeyman carpenter of Ware, who presented it to King Edward IV in 1463. WebThe Great Bed of Ware left the town in 1869 after nearly 300 years but came home to Ware Museum in April 2012, on loan from the Victoria and Albert Museum for a year, after a lot of hard work and a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
