One way to test it (other than what Bbyer recommended) is to put several people in it on a cold day and start talking (or breathing heavily, whatever you prefer). When it fogs up, turn on the heated windshield (but no defrost). After a few minutes, you should see it working.

A lot quicker than mirrors. +1 as above.Mine stopped working.Fixed under warranty.Switch on dash lit up.Fuses ok. Was the relay under or next to the battery at fault. 2024 maxi life.
