I wear bifocals but don't really look at the ball, but go to a state of defocus when executing shots. I have a friend who went to the bifocal on top and that works for him. For golf I have distance-only sunglasses with transition, or adaptive lenses. The lenses adjust their darkness for the amount of light in area. Two distances which are important for golf are not sufficiently taken into account by progressive lenses: the distance to the ball before tee-off and during putting – in other words, when the ball is on the green and not in the air.

If you have both progressive glasses and glasses for distance only, makes sense to use the distance ones for tennis, you're really not going to be reading the trademark on the ball.
