Playing golf with progressive lenses
Posted November 29, 2024. I have progressive lenses in my regular everyday glasses. Can handle both distance, and close-in (i.e. computer screen, reading). For golf I have distance-only sunglasses with transition, or adaptive lenses. The lenses adjust their darkness for the amount of light in area. Webb16 okt. 2024 · Unlike many other situations in everyday life, experts strongly advise against wearing progressive lens for golf. Two distances which are important for golf are not sufficiently taken into account by progressive lenses: the distance to the ball before tee-off and during putting – in other words, when the ball is on the green and not in the air.

Webb25 sep. 2013 · I went to progressive lenses (graduated bifocals) about 3 years ago when I was 45. At first, the Dr. cautioned me that they might be tough to wear playing golf. He encouraged me to keep my old pair for awhile. So for about a year I would put on my old glasses just to play golf. Webb17 nov. 2009 · If you play with glasses for distance only, progressive lenses, contact lenses, or no correction and feel like you see OK, it's OK. If you have both progressive glasses and glasses for distance only, makes sense to use the distance ones for tennis, you're really not going to be reading the trademark on the ball.
