Web11 Feb 2024 · I carry a 340PD on my ankle. I'm unfamiliar with the M&P340, but it looks like it weighs 2oz (17%) more than the 340PD - the difference being the titanium cylinder. Also, the 340PD doesn't have an internal lock - which you may or may not care about. I replaced the fiber optic sight on my 340PD with an XS Big Dot, and installed an Apex j-frame kit. You have to overcome serious initial resistance before the trigger moves back in one swift movement and the hammer releases.

The cylinder shows faint drag marks after a couple hundred rounds, and that's to be expected, so the timing of the cylinder stop is what it should be. Above the cylinder latch is Smith & Wesson's internal lock system. WebThe design is sleek and sturdy, not too heavy. Features are good - flips round to tablet format, touch screen, HD IPS display etc. A few pointers regarding functionality: I could never get to boot into BIOS with what should have been the DEL or ESC keys and had to work around this with safe mode reboot / GRUB bootloader UEFI option.
